My current lunch addiction

Date: July 19, 2010
Destination: Benihana
Location: 47 west 56th street bet. 5th and 6th ave.
Partner(s): Co-workers

Ok, so this may not fall under my usual categories of fried, covered in cheese, or dipped in chocolate; but it is seasoned thoroughly with salt so it gets a pass.

I HAVE A LUNCHTIME INFATUATION WITH BENIHANA.

Yes, the Japanese hibachi steakhouse. The same place that bops you on the head and takes a photo if you tell them its your birthday. I have been there 3 times in the past week. I can't stop. They have a fantabulous lunch special, which happens to price out the same as getting a sandwich and a bag a chips at any of the local deli's. In my book this definitely constitutes as more bang for your buck. I got to enjoy salad, hibachi chicken or steak (I go back and forth between the two), vegetable fried rice and veggies for around $10.

Ok, so what... I leave there smelling like hibachi, most of the chef's aren't even Japanese, and my fingers and toes swell to double their size because of the salt. But they have GINGER SAUCE and an onion volcano!

Enough said.

Missing you...

I believe I made a resolution back in April that I would post more often......

:cricket, cricket:

Ummm, yeah. I'm a liar.

I don't know what happened, it's not like I stopped eating or anything. I will keep trying to post my fatty experiences, and maybe a few others that deserve recognition.

Don't worry bloggy blog, I will never abandon you completely.

So, here is a quick photo of one of my favorite snacks with instructions on how to eat it skinny FAT girl style. I would have included pictures with each step, but I had already inhaled these cookies by the time I had the thought that maybe I should blog about them. I have no control :/

Step 1- pour milk into small glass.
Step 2- remove package of Double Stuf Oreos from kitchen cabinet.
Step 3- grab a paper towel (this will be important at the end)
Step 4- sit on a comfy couch in front of large television and put on a good movie (my movie pick today- Rocky Horror Picture Show)
Step 5- place milk, cookies, and paper towel on folding tv tray directly in front of you
Step 6- remove one cookie from package and hold between your thumb and index finger.
Step 7- Dunk cookie into milk completely drowning the cookie and the tips of your fingers.
Step 8- The cookie will cause the milk to form bubbles, wait until cookie stops bubbling approximately 8-10 seconds.
Step 9- remove cookie from milk and shake to remove excess milk
Step 10- shove entire cookie into mouth and enjoy!
*repeat steps 6-10 until an entire row of cookies is devoured
Step 11- Drink milk
Step 12- use paper towel to clean hands, face, chin, and front of shirt of all milk dribbles and cookie crumbs :)

Phone test with Mac and Cheese

This is a test to see if the love of my life (my iPhone) will allow me to publish posts on the go.

I just finished prepping my macaroni and cheese dish for tomorrows Easter dinner with the fam.

I really want to bake and eat it now. :(

Hopefully, if this blog app works. I'll be able to show you all the end product tomorrow.

G'nite all!

trailer trash and bald men....huh?

Date: April 1, 2010
Destination: Trailer Park Lounge
Location: 271 W 23rd Street
Partner(s): Xtina
Bonus: Max Brenner's Chocolate by the Baldman (841 Broadway/Union Square)

Ok, so I have learned that I am actually a terrible blogger.  I have not posted in over 2 weeks.  Shame, shame on me!  My excuse--the weather, maybe if it wasn't a torrential downpour everyday, and I saw a little sunshine every now and then; I might want to venture out into the concrete jungle.  My new April resolution is to post more frequently.   Hopefully today's beautiful weather is the start of a new sunshiny trend. With that being said, please proceed with the following post without judgment.  I am still feeling the aftershock of a the mess that I ate tonight.  As good as it all was, even my stomach was a bit stretched and feeling a little constricted in my skinny jeans. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation do not count!

So, my fatty fat buddy and I needed a reunion.  We hadn't gotten together since shake shack and waffles.  She just got back from Puerto Rico (so jealous!) and I wanted to take advantage of the nice weather.  OK, I lie I was just hungry.  We decided to head down to 23rd street and check out Trailer Park Lounge.  My mom had mentioned this place to me a while back and I remembered walking by it when I was at FIT.  The place is a riot!  It is super kitschy, decorated with all the crap you would find in Uncle Billy Bob's back yard. There were giant plastic snowmen, old store mannequins, tiki lights, and even a bowling pin lamp.

MY personal favorite was a picture of Santa Elvis!
So, let's get to the goodstuff...
Gotta love the roll of paper towels on the table!  I don't know about the rest of you, but that's what I use for napkins in my house.  There was no question....i was going for the Chili Dog with a side of tater tots.  Xtina went for the philly cheesesteak.

I really think the pictures speak for themselves....ummm YUM YUM!  My one mistake was that I didn't order cheese on the chilidog.  But you know you have a good friend when she shares her cheese.  Yes, Xtina did scrape peices of cheese from her sandwich onto my chili dog.  Now, that's love!!!

Feeling very satisfied but not quite ready to go home, we decided we needed dessert.  Sooo...it was off to the Bald Man!  Max Brenner's house of deliciousness. This place is a chocolate lover's dream.  And if you know me, you know I love my chocolate.  The moment you walk through the door you smell chocolate, I have to use all sorts of self control not to dip my head into the huge tubs of churning chocolate.  We decided we need Milkshakes.  Now normally, these monster drinks would be enough to satisfy the sweet craving.
But noooo....I'm greedy I had to order the "Melting Chocolate Truffle Heart Cake".  This fabulous chocolate cake is filled with your choice of raspberry, milk chocolate, or caramel filling (caramel for me please), served with vanilla bourbon ice cream, strawberries, and a milk chocolate shot.  Wait, a milk chocolate shot?? Yes it is shotglass filled with pure chocolate covered in whip cream.  Basically this was a diabetic's nightmare!

:sigh:....I'm in heaven and I don't ever want to leave.   Until next time, this is skinny fat girl signing out and hopefully not entering a diabetic coma.
